My friend was facing a problem that while creating new databases in the New Application dialog the encryption settings were being set to "Locally encrypt this database using Medium Encryption".
While not a big issue, but it was a sort of inconvenience that every time while creating a new database this setting had to be turned off.So I just played around with the client a bit and found the solution right under my nose. In your Notes client go to "File > Security > User Security" and in the tab "Notes Data > Notes Databases" and select "Do not locally encrypt".
